Prior to enlisting into the military I was a stocker, checker, produce, bagger & Meat Cutter for a small store in Houston Texas.  During my time as a meat cutter my trigger finger was caught in the blade of the meat grinder.  It was just one of those quick things that shouldn't have happened but did.So when I showed up to the recruiters (1967-1968) down town they asked me about my finger.  I told them what happened and took off the splint  to show the 10 stitches through the end of my finger.  They gasped and said see you in 6 months. I also had a cyst (1968) to have taken care of and that was another 6 months. At the end of the second 6 months I went back and they informed me what 1A fit for duty, I said what does that mean!  (Hey I Was Not Worldly Then) My Uncle and I went downtown to speak with a recruiter and they sent me off for Testing.  Sometimes they just don't tell you everything.  After completion of the Tests no one provided the "What Next" or "Where Do I Go Now" information.  So I found my uncle and we went home.  About 30 minutes after we got home who do you think called "Yep" the recruiter?  He asked why I had left, I told him no one told me to stick around!  He then said that he would like to talk to me as I had some pretty good scores.  So I nabbed my uncle again and off we went. Upon arrival the recruiter indicated that he had something which was highly sensitive and all those other buzz words.  So you bet I signed the dotted lines for a 4 years enlistment.  Here are my assignments over my 21 years of service.
